Here we are weekend 4!
Bringing together themes and your yogic expressions will differ from month to month, week to week and year to year. It's a real beautiful way to be in your growth as a teacher and practitioner. The themes and workshops are what support you in that process!
My yogic reflections:
Class Title: Vinyasa Flow Yoga (Semi Heated) 60 minutes
"Finding your Intelligent edge" I went to a class in OKC it was at a place called Soul Yoga right down the street from where our Oklahoma retreat was located! Cute Studio.
Class was purchased via MindBody on a pass for $29 for unlimited for the week. (Not bad)
They offered Lavendar towels at the end of class. Corpse pose was still too short though. 9 minutes if we were lucky on that one.
Teacher was the owner. She was great. Knowledgeable. She did practice with the class because they were also live streaming with their phone. This a service we could offer but it does take away from the class. She still got up when needed and made adjustments but it was an interesting point.
I decided to go back and take my mom to a
Basics & Beginners Yoga Class
Same studio as above.
The teacher did almost the whole class. She spoke so fast and actually moved really fast. What we did was basic but the way it was taught I'm not sure. She didn't do any hands on adjustments and over all her demeanor seemed like she didn't care that much.
This is how much something small can change your opinion of a studio. If me or my mom go back it will be for something specific. Likely not that teacher and we won't be buying a pass.
Next class:
Yin Yoga at 3rd Street
Cost for students and teachers $10. Regular $15. First class was free but we still paid.
This lady was awesome. She checked almost ALL the boxes. She never left her mat and did the whole practice with us. That was okay though because her instructions were so good and clear. She went slow and she was looking around the room the whole time.
"Wide legged Sufi turning in circles..." I have been doing this for years and never thought about calling them "Sufi circles" but realized in her class that spiraling is exactly that. A sufi practice!
Which brings us back to this idea if what BUTi offers in their practice and how they pull from all types of practices.
In the reclined twist to the right if you take the left hand to left rib cage (keeps the shoulder down)
Mom loved this class. It was great.
